U-Hopper is a high-tech start-up company whose mission is to fully exploit the potential of modern mobile handset technologies and social networking platforms to provide innovative personalized services to individuals and communities. Our solutions build on state-of-the-art semantic technologies and big data tools and techniques for extracting useful  knowledge from smartphone-originated data. This includes both usage patterns by subscribers as well as data coming from sensors customarily found in current smartphones (accelerometers, GPS, audio and video). Headquartered in Trento, northern Italy,  U-Hopper is a spin-off of the international research centre CREATE-NET.

Role in the Project

U-Hopper is leading the development of the SmartSociety platform and the integration of the components designed and prototyped by Consortium partners. U-Hopper is further coordinating exploitation activities.
